Police have released the name of the man who died Monday when a semi-truck tipped over onto his car on southbound U.S. 23 near Whitmore Lake.
Michigan State Police of the Brighton Post said 58-year-old James Wallace from Lennon, 15 miles west of Flint, died in the crash.
According to police, around 1 p.m. Monday a semi-truck hauling scrap metal was traveling on southbound U.S. 23 when its tire blew out. The dual trailer dump truck swerved, hitting a car in the left lane next to it. The rear trailer then turned over onto the car crushing it.
Alcohol was not a factor, police said.
