Detroit police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident Tuesday night on the city’s southwest side.
Officers were dispatched about 9 p.m. to Michigan Avenue and Junction, where a man was struck by a vehicle at a high rate of speed, according to Sgt. Michael Woody.
“It was traveling fast enough to do some serious damage,” Woody said.
Police are searching for a dark-colored SUV.
The victim has not been identified and police have classified him as a John Doe.
Officers continue to investigate.
