Jenners announce their split after 22 years
After 22 years of marriage, reality TV stars Bruce and Kris Jenner have separated, E! News reports. “We are living separately and we are much happier this way,” the pair said in a joint statement. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.”
Justin Timberlake tops Billboard album chart
Justin Timberlake is on top again. The singer’s “The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2” debuts at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, with 350,000 copies sold its first week in stores. That’s down sharply from the 968,000 copies Timberlake’s first “20/20 Experience” disc sold its first week back in March. Drake’s “Nothing Was the Same” drops one spot to No. 2, and “Royals” singer Lorde debuts at No. 3 with her debut album “Pure Heroine.”
Jones to return after her cancer diagnosis
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will release their new album “Give the People What they Want” on Jan. 14, the band’s reps announced Wednesday. It’s the group’s first album since Jones was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in June, which delayed the release of the project. According to a press release, Jones, who underwent surgery to remove the cancer and began chemotherapy treatments in August, is “doing much better” and plans to return to the stage in February, according to Billboard.com.
Panettiere announces engagement
“Nashville” star Hayden Panettiere is engaged, ABC News reports. The former “Heroes” actress, 24, announced her engagement to boxer Wladimir Klitschko on Wednesday’s episode of “Live With Kelly and Michael.” The pair met back in 2009 and has dated on and off since. No date has been set for the wedding.
■Taylor Swift was named 2013’s Artist of the Year by the Nashville Songwriter’s Association International. It’s her sixth time winning the honor.
■Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg told an audience of TV execs that he offered to pay $75 million for three more episodes of “Breaking Bad,” that would pick up where the final episode left off. He planned to break up the episodes into 6-minute segments online, but the idea never got off the ground, he said.
■The Jonas Brothers have canceled their 19-date tour because of creative differences, People magazine reports.
