Glenn Bauer (Macomb County Sheriff's Office)
Macomb Township — A Chesterfield Township man pulled over for erratic driving caused a separate scene when he began screaming at sheriff’s deputies and tried to ingest a rock-like substance.
Taken into custody Tuesday and arraigned Thursday was Glenn Bauer, 49,ofChesterfield Township, on suspicion of possession of cocaine, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and operating while impaired after he was pulled over just after 7 p.m. on Hall Road near Tilch.
A witness told authorities that the Ford F-250 driven by the man sideswiped an SUV while traveling westbound on Hall near Garfield. He continued on toward Tilch, where he got out of his truck about 100 yards from his vehicle and began rolling around on the roadway.
Deputies arrived at the scene, but when they tried to restrain him, the man was uncooperative and ingested what police described only as a “rock-like” substance.
More of the white material was discovered in his truck, as well as prescription bottles, including Vicodin. The white rock recovered from the truck tested positive for cocaine.
The man was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
