Michigan entrepreneur Jesse Vollmar, a 25-year-old graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, was chosen by Forbes as one of its “30 Under 30” this year. Vollmar grew up as a fifth-generation farmer on an organic row crop farm in Caro.
He started FarmLogs, an IT consulting business for farmers, with a classmate while they were still in high school, building it from a firm with just $1,500 in the bank to a company in Ann Arbor with more than $350,000 in annual revenue.
FarmLogs helps farmers monitor their expenses and profits, crops, the weather and other key issues. The company’s web and mobile apps are being used by farmers in 50 states and 121 countries. Follow Vollmar’s company on Twitter at @FarmLogs.
