It could take up to a week or more before the Wayne County Prosecutorís Office decides whether to file charges against Detroit Cass Tech junior Jayru Campbell.
Campbell allegedly attacked and body-slammed a security guard in a hallway at Cass Tech on Wednesday.
The Prosecutorís Office released a statement Monday saying it is reviewing a warrant request and that it will conduct interviews and further evaluate evidence before making its decision.
Campbell, a three-sport athlete at Cass Tech, is best known for his play as a quarterback. He led Cass Tech to the Division 1 state championship in 2011 and 2012. Cass Tech lost in the semifinals this past November.
Campbell has given Michigan State a verbal commitment to play football.
Cass Tech football coach Thomas Wilcher did not respond to a Detroit News request for information.
