One good tip
Homemade polenta and hot breakfast cereals tend to lump up once the grains hit hot liquid. To remedy that, pour the grains into a funnel which you’ve closed off with your finger. Once the liquid begins to simmer, with a whisk in one hand and the funnel in another, slowly release the grains into the hot liquid, whisking until the funnel is empty and the grains are smoothly mixed.
One good cocktail
You bet it’s cold out there. To chase the chill, try this cocktail recipe, courtesy of Charles Corpion from the Four Seasons and Martha Stewart Living. In a glass coffee mug, stir together 1 ½ ounce Irish whiskey or rum, ½ounce hazelnut liqueur, such as Frangelico, and ½ounce Irish cream liqueur, such as Bailey’s. Top with hot coffee and garnish with whipped cream. Makes 1.
