Here’s what you need to know:

* The Tigers have added left-handed pitcher Patrick McCoy from Triple-A Toledo. They placed Ian Krol (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list and moved Luke Putkonen from the 15-day to the 60-day DL.

* Miguel Cabrera's RBI-double in the 10th inning Saturday night against the Indians was the seventh game-winning RBI in extra innings in his career, according to Elias Sports Bureau. It was his first game-winning RBI in extra innings since Aug. 5, 2012, also against Cleveland.

* Max Scherzer had a poor outing in his last start -- 10 hits and 10 earned runs in an 11-4 loss to the Royals. But it was just the third time in 15 starts this season that he has given up more than four earned runs.

* The Tigers have an off-day Monday before opening a three-game set on Tuesday at Texas. Detroit's scheduled starters for the Rangers series are Drew Smyly on Tuesday, Anibal Sanchez on Wednesday and Rick Porcello on Thursday.
