The Oakland Athletics are now a better bet to win the World Series than the Tigers, according to one online bookmaker.

Oakland, which acquired pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel in a blockbuster trade with the Cubs on Friday, is now a 4-to-1 bet to win the Fall Classic, according to SportsBettingDime.com. That ties them with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best odds overall.

The Tigers, listed by some bookmakers earlier in the season as the favorite to win the World Series, now have the next-best odds along with the San Francisco Giants of claiming the championship, at 8-to-1 odds.
