Allen Trieu says L.J. Scott is a 'big back who runs like a big back should.' (YouTube)
L.J. Scott, a four-star running back from Hubbard (Ohio) High, has committed to Michigan State’s 2015 recruiting class.
Scott, 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, is ranked the No. 9 running back in the nation for 2015 by Scout.com. He had been offered by Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, and many of the nation’s other top programs.
Scott becomes the eighth commitment overall, and the first running back, in MSU’s 2015 class.
Here is a scouting report on Scott by Allen Trieu, Midwest Recruiting Manager for Scout.com and a Detroit News columnist:
“Big back who runs like a big back should. Breaks a lot of arm tackles and has excellent balance. Shows good change of direction ability and short area quickness. He has good feet and is agile for a bigger kid. He likely will not be a true home run threat in college, but has above average speed and can break longer runs. Shows good ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.”
