It looks like a new Eminem album is in the works and the news sent Twitter buzzing Sunday night.
Eminem announced Sunday that he will be releasing “Shady XV” on Black Friday, according to his Twitter account and a blur of a reference during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night.
The album will drop on Nov. 28, according to Marshall Mathers@Eminem, the singer’s Twitter account. “Yes it’s official... #SHADYXV Black Friday,” a tweet said. In another entry, “Blink and you’ll miss it.”
Website Rap-Up said the official announcement of Eminem’s new album, which comes 15 years after his first major release, “The Slim Shady LP,” was made in a trailer aired during the VMAs for “The Equalizer” featuring Denzel Washington. The new album follows last year’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” which sold 792,000 copies the first week it debuted in November.
“Retweet if you’re excited for Eminem’s new album Shady XV,” called out Shislye on Twitter.
“Eminem IS DROPPING A NEW ALBUM!!! I FEEL LIKE A KID IN THE MORNING CHRISTMAS”
The announcement comes just two days after Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, and pop singer Rihanna headlined a 2½ hour show at Comerica Park in Detroit on Friday, the closing date of a three-city, six-show Monster Tour before a sold-out crowd of about 45,000.
