Snyder to answer questions Friday on WDET call-in show

Lansing— Gov. Rick Snyder may not end up sharing a debate stage with Democrat Mark Schauer this fall, but the Republican incumbent will answer questions from Michiganians Friday morning during a live statewide call-in show airing on public radio stations.

The Michigan Public Radio Network will host Snyder from 9-10 a.m. Friday as part of its “Michigan Calling” series hosted by the network’s Capitol bureau chief, Rick Pluta.

Listeners can call into the program and ask Snyder questions by dialing (313) 577-1019 or submit questions on Facebook or via Twitter by using the hashtag #MICalling.

The show will be broadcast from WDET’s studio on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit.

Negotiations between Snyder and Schauer’s campaigns over live debates this fall have recently hit an impasse.

Schauer appeared on the radio program in mid-July and Democratic Senate candidate Gary Peters took calls last month.

Republican Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land has committed to taking questions from Pluta and public radio listeners on Friday, Oct. 3 from 9-10 a.m.
