2010 Ford Fusion named Motor Trend's Car of the Year

Dearborn -- The 2010 Ford Fusion has been named Motor Trend magazine's 2010 Car of the Year.

The announcement was made today at a ceremony at Ford Motor Co.'s world headquarters here.

"Ford has proven its resilience in these tough times by delivering to market a car with broad appeal to a broad range of consumers," said Angus MacKenzie, Motor Trends editor-in-chief.

Ford's global product development chief, Derrick Kuzak, called the award "another testament to our commitment to delivering a world-class car lineup."

The Fusion beat out 22 competitors including the Buick LaCrosse, Toyota Prius, Porsche Panamera, Hyundai Genesis Coupe and others.
