Celebrate Michigan: Hit us with your best snapshot

On your mark, get set, go! The summer travel season is upon us, and it's time to spread the word about the people and places that make Michigan special in our Celebrate Michigan! photo contest.

Give us your best shot of a memorable Michigan scene. We're looking for photos that best capture the unique character of our state.

To enter, upload your images at detnews.com/celebratemichigan. Each week, we'll choose a winner for prizes such as Tigers tickets or a Michigan travel-related book.

The winning entries will be published each Wednesday. At summer's end, the weekly finalists will be eligible to win one of these prizes:

First prize: Treetops Resort in Gaylord -- a choice of either a two-night fall Golf Getaway for two or a two-night Winter Getaway for two.

Second prize: Two nights at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island for two, including breakfast daily.

Third prize: Dinner for two at Schuler's Restaurant & Pub in Marshall.

Don't delay! The photo contest ends on Labor Day, Sept. 6.
