Motorcycle caddy plays right

Device allows Harley enthusiasts to strap on golf bag to side

Because it's mostly been warm and sunny this winter in Michigan, you might be thinking about playing a round of golf.

But what if you really want to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather and ride your motorcycle to the golf course? What do you do with your golf clubs?

Motorcycle racer and bike builder Glenn Castro has an answer — the Milwaukee Golf Caddy, a device that allows your Harley to hold your golf bag as you ride to and from the course.

Castro grew up in Southern California, where he worked in a motorcycle shop and did motocross racing. He later moved to Texas and worked for world motorcycle racing champion Kevin Schwantz and his family. He later joined the Kenny Roberts/Mirt Lowell racing team.

Castro eventually returned to California and opened North County Hyper Sports, a motorcycle racing shop that also did dyno tuning and built custom bikes.

But Castro has two passions: motorcycles and golf, which he plays at least twice a week.

Castro and his crew spent nearly a year designing and developing an easy-to-use bracket that would secure his golf bag to his Harley. Made from 6061T6 aluminum and powder-coated, the Milwaukee Golf Caddy weighs only 2.5 pounds and installs to the side of a motorcycle in less than a minute. No tools are needed to install or to remove the caddy, which attaches using the bike's saddlebag anchors, luggage support bar and hook-and-eye straps.

Castro admits the device has been tested at speeds up to 95 miles per hour and reports no change in a bike's handling characteristics.

The Milwaukee Golf Caddy is available in two versions: MGC01 for the Road King, Road King Classic, Street Glide, Road Glide Custom, Heritage Softail Classic and Switchback, and the MGC02 for the Road Glide Ultra, Electra Glide Classic, Ultra Classic Electra Glide and Electra Glide Ultra Limited.

Pricing starts at $579. Visit www.milwaukeegolfcaddy.com for details.
