Detroit — A second Detroit man has been charged in connection with the shotgun slayings of three victims who were killed in an abandoned house as two children looked on.
Kevin Lewis, 25, has been charged with three counts of premeditated first-degree murder for the deaths of 20-year-olds Curtis Clements and India Coleman and 25-year-old Lauren Trotty, all of Detroit.
Their bodies were found Thursday morning in an abandoned house on the 11300 block of Coyle Street. Two little girls, ages 5 and 1, were in the home at the time of the killings and survived.
Police say a 911 caller reported gunshots being fired at the wrong address in the 11900 block of Coyle at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Responding officers didn't find any disturbance. Family members said the girls spent the night with the bodies of their dead mothers and their male acquaintance until a neighbor found the bodies at around 9:30 a.m. the next day
Shadell Love, 21, who prosecutors allege shot all three victims, was arraigned on three counts of first-degree murder Sunday in 36th District Court.
Both face life in prison without parole, if convicted.
Lewis is expected to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Wednesday in 36th District Court.
