Comerica Park is transforming into Margaritaville again.
Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band will perform at Comerica Park on July 20, promoters announced Friday. The show follows last year's Buffett show at the Detroit Tigers' home, which packed a sold-out crowd of more than 39,000 Parrotheads into the downtown stadium.
Buffett will be joined by opening act Jackson Browne at this year's show. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 23 via Tickets.com, the Comerica Park box office and by phone at (313) 471-6611; prices are TBA.
The tour is dubbed the Songs from St. Somewhere Tour, named after Buffett's forthcoming album. The set, his 29th, is his first studio album since 2009's "Buffet Hotel."
Prior to the concert, the Comerica Park grounds will be transformed into a beach party environment with games, drinks and more set to add to the party atmosphere. A free pre-party starts at noon.
Buffett's show is part of a summer Saturday that also sees Beyoncé performing at The Palace of Auburn Hills and the Faster Horses country music festival unfolding at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
