Shelby Township — Three people, including members of the township's fire department, were injured Sunday after an ambulance collided with a pickup truck, police said.
The crash happened at about 2 p.m. at the intersection of 23 Mile Road and Schoenherr, said Shelby Township Police Lt. Michael Coady.
"The victims have been transported to the hospital," he said.
The Henry Ford works with autism group
Dearborn — The Henry Ford museum is joining forces with the Autism Alliance of Michigan to provide a welcoming environment to families with autism.
As part of the partnership, the museum plans to include a link to pre-visit information on its website that describes environments and sensorial experiences to the families and provides varied dietary options, areas for noise reduction and other hospitality services. The Autism Alliance will provide training in basic aspects of autism for museum staff.
Autism Alliance of Michigan President and CEO Colleen Allen said she's "proud to be partnering with The Henry Ford to give families living with autism the same experiences as those enjoyed by others."
Powerball jackpot hits $260 million
Expect a few more people in line at the lottery ticket machine this week as the Powerball jackpot has grown to $260 million for Wednesday's drawing.
No one matched all six numbers drawn Saturday evening when the jackpot was an estimated $216 million. The winning numbers Saturday were 3-7-21-44-53, and the Powerball was 16.
The Mega Millions jackpot also will grow to an estimated $13 million as no one matched all the numbers Friday night. Michigan is one of the states in the multistate lottery game whose next drawing is Tuesday.
One Michigan player won $10,000 Friday.
State education board to have public forums
Lansing — The State Board of Education is holding public forums to discuss reform, financing proposals and potential legislation.
State Board President John C. Austin said he and his colleagues are eager to encourage community, educator and stakeholder participation in the discussions.
A forum is planned from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Macomb Intermediate School District, 44001 Garfield Road, Clinton Township.
