Registration open for 5-day music theater program

Detroit-area youth age 9-17 will have the opportunity to work directly with top Broadway professionals as part of the Musical Theatre Intensive, a workshop sponsored by Mosaic Youth Theatre from Aug. 5-9. Registration is open now through April 1, and space is limited.

Marc Tumminelli, owner of Broadway Workshop in New York, will direct the program, which will be held at Detroit School of Arts, 123 Selden in Detroit, adjacent to The Max M. Fisher Center.

Participants will perform in two Broadway musical medleys, specially arranged for the workshop. Every student will have lines and a spotlight solo performance.

This five-day workshop is being made possible with sponsorships from the Detroit Public Schools and Roberts Riverwalk Hotel in Detroit, along with "in-kind support" from Broadway in Detroit.

Tuition fee is $750 per student, and a limited number of scholarships are available.
