Detroit News All-Area girls basketball teams

ALL-NORTH

Erika Davenport, 5-10, So., F-C, Clarkston

Davenport was a force inside, averaging 18 points and 13 rebounds to help Clarkston win the OAA and advance to the regional final.

Asia Doss, 5-6, Jr., G, Detroit Country Day

Doss averaged 18 points, 4.5 assists and three steals to lead Country Day to a Class B regional title. She is being recruited by numerous Big Ten schools.

Candice Leatherwood, 5-10, Jr., G, Farmington Hills Mercy

Leatherwood averaged 12 points, four assists and three steals to help Mercy advance to the Class A regional title game.

Lexie Robak, 5-9, Sr., G, Waterford Lakes

Robak had range, knocking down 3-pointers on a consistent basis. She averaged 14.8 points and four rebounds to lead Lakes to the Class D title game — after helping Lakes win state titles the previous three years.

Bailey Thomas, 5-10, Fr., G, Birmingham Marian

,Thomas averaged 10 points and five assists as Marian won the Catholic League and reached the Class A quarterfinals.

Coach: Mary Cicerone, Birmingham Marian

Cicerone made her 30th year at Marian memorable, winning the Catholic League and advancing to the Class A quarterfinals to finish 21-4.

Second team

Sydni Davis, 5-4, Sr., G, Southfield-Lathrup; Taylor Jones, 5-10, So., G, Farmington Hills Mercy; Delaney Kenny, 5-5, Sr., G, Clarkston; Sami Stormont, 5-8, Sr., G, Royal Oak; Shannon Wilson, 5-10, Jr., G, Bloomfield Hills Andover.

Third team

Ava Doetsch, 5-6, Sr., G, Waterford Lakes; Christina Green, 6-0, Sr., C, Southfield Lathrup; Amber Jamison, 6-0, So., F, Rochester Adams; Brittany Washington, 5-7, Jr., G, Detroit Country Day; Shelby Watts, 5-10, Sr., F-C, Waterford Kettering.

ALL-EAST

Carly D'Almeida, 5-11, Sr., C, Harrison Township L'Anse Creuse

A four-year varsity player, D'Almeida averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds to earn MAC White most valuable player honors.

Claire Deboer, 6-2, Sr., F-C, Grosse Pointe South

Deboer averaged 13.5 points, 11 rebounds and four assists to help South reach the Class A state championship game for the second consecutive year. She consistently set up her teammates with great passes. Deboer will play at Bucknell.

Rio Dudgeon, 6-0, Jr., F, Macomb Dakota

Dudgeon averaged 10 points and five rebounds to help Dakota earn its first 20-victory season in program history and advance to the regional final.

Cierra Rice, 5-8, So., G, Grosse Pointe South

Rice used her excellent ball-handling and athleticism to get to the basket consistently. She averaged 15 points, three assists and three steals for the MAC Red champions, who reached the Class A state title game for the second straight year.

Haleigh Ristovski, 5-10, Sr., G, Grosse Pointe Liggett

Ristovski had a big senior season, averaging 15.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists, four steals and 3.5 blocks to lead Liggett to the regional title game. Ristovski will play at Detroit.

Coach: Kevin Richards, Grosse Pointe South

Richards guided South to its second consecutive Class A state championship game, where it lost in overtime.

Bre'nae Andrews, 5-10, Jr., G, Grosse Pointe Liggett; Chris Harper, 5-5, Sr., G, Utica Ford; Sade Lemons, 5-10, So., F, Sterling Heights; Bethany McCord, 5-10, Sr., F, Warren Cousino; Marisa Oleksiak, 5-9, Sr., G, Macomb L'Anse Creuse North.

Third team

Lindsey Hernden, 5-6, Jr., G, Romeo; Marie Liddane, 5-6, Jr., G, Grosse Pointe North; Ashley Nickens, 6-3, Sr., C, Utica Ford; Lola Ristovski, 5-9, So., G, Grosse Pointe Liggett; Kylie Townsley, 5-7, Sr., G, Macomb Dakota

ALL-WEST

Andrea Anastos, 5-10, Sr., G, Livonia Ladywood

Anastos averaged 19.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists to lead Ladywood to the Class B regional championship. She will play hockey at Boston College.

Raven Bankston, 5-8, Sr., G, Westland John Glenn

Bankston averaged 18 points to lead John Glenn to its first Final Four appearance. She scored 23 and had 11 steals in the Class A semifinals. Bankston will play at Delaware State.

ShaKeya Graves, 5-9, Sr., G, Westland John Glenn

Graves helped John Glenn reach the Final Four for the first time in program history. She averaged 12.5 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals. Graves will play at DePaul.

Ashley Henderson, 5-8, Sr., G, Riverview Gabriel Richard

Henderson averaged 16.5 points as Richard advances to the Final Four for the first time in history. Henderson will play soccer at Saginaw Valley State.

Paris McLeod, 5-8, Sr., G, Inkster

McLeod averaged 19.1 points, 6.5 assists and four steals to lead Inkster to an unbeaten regular season. McLeod will play collegiately at Evansville.

Coach: William Jones, Riverview Gabriel Richard

Jones has done an outstanding job in his two seasons, guiding Gabriel Richard to a regional championship last year and its first Final Four appearance in history this season. He is 36-12.

Paige Aresco, 5-9, Jr., F, Canton; Raine Bankston, 5-8, Sr., G, Westland John Glenn; Morgan Blair, 5-10, Sr., G, Dearborn Divine Child; Cassie Breen, 5-10, Jr., G, Woodhaven; Brianna Brennan, 6-0, Sr., G, Woodhaven

Third team

Sarah Carlson, 5-8, Sr., G, Gibraltar Carlson; Nastassja Chambers, 5-9, Fr., G, Ypsilanti Arbor Prep; Payton Sims, 5-10, So., G, Ann Arbor Huron; Nicole Urbanik, 5-10, Sr., G, Dearborn Divine Child; Zakiya Wells, 5-5, So., G, Ypsilanti Arbor Prep

ALL-DETROIT

Antania Hayes, 6-0, Sr., G, King

Hayes looked more to set up her teammates than score. She averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead King to the PSL championship and the Class A regional title. Hayes will play at DePaul.

Nijzah Hill, 5-9, Sr., G, Pershing

With numerous starters gone from last year's state-ranked team, Hill took over the leadership role to maintain Pershing's consistency, helping the team reach the PSL semifinals.

Lauren Elliott, 5-7, Jr., G, Cass Tech

Elliott ran the offense, averaging 9.5 points, five assists and four steals to lead Cass Tech to an unbeaten season before losing in the PSL title game.

Brigette Murray, 5-9, Jr., G, Cody

Murray used her quickness and ball-handling skills to get to the basket. She cored the majority of her 20-point average by getting to the rim.

Jayna Fullove, 5-9, Sr., G, Renaissance

Fullove averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists to help Renaissance reach the PSL semifinals.

Coach: Marissa Thrower, Cass Tech

Thrower guided Cass Tech to the PSL championship game in her first year. An assistant at Renaissance the previous three years, Thrower led Cass Tech to an 18-2 record, losing to King twice.

Second team

Marte Grays, 6-2, Jr., C, King; Brionna Grimes, 5-10, Jr., G-F, Mumford; Shavarra Patton, 5-7, Sr., G, Northwestern; Tyesha Dillard, 6-4, So., C, Mumford; Kashawnna Sampson, 5-8, Sr., G, Cass Tech.

Third team

Claudette Brookins, 5-6, Sr., G, Osborn; Siyeh Frazier, 5-8, Fr., G, Renaissance; Takira Height, 5-10, Sr., G, King; Josephine Holmes, 5-9, Sr., F, Central; Ja'nae Williams, 5-8, So., G, King.
