"Love and Honor," which was filmed around the Ann Arbor area in 2011, will hold its Michigan premiere Friday in Plymouth.
Director Danny Mooney and writer/ producer Jim Burnstein are among those expected to be in attendance. The film screens at 8 p.m. Friday at the Penn Theater, 760 Penniman Ave., in downtown Plymouth. Tickets are sold out.
Set during the Vietnam war, "Love and Honor" tells the story of a Michigan soldier who returns home to win back his girlfriend. It stars Liam Hemsworth ("The Last Song") and Teresa Palmer ("Warm Bodies").
The film, originally titled "AWOL," received an incentive of $1.8 million from Michigan on a budget of $4.3 million of in-state spending, according to Detroit News records.
Actors Mike Ellison, Chris Newman and Roger Callard are also due at the screening, along with executive producer Eddie Rubin.
The film opens March 29 at Emagine Novi and the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.
