Plymouth Township — An apartment building fire Thursday has left residents of 16 units scrambling for shelter.
The blaze at the Lake Pointe Village Apartments broke out about 11:30 a.m. at the complex on Shadywood Drive, near Interstate 275 and M-14, fire officials said.
There were no reports of injuries. Someone who answered the phone at the management office number listed on the complex's website said residents got out safely; they were either staying with family or getting help from the Red Cross.
The Plymouth Community Fire Department is investigating the cause.
