East Lansing — Wyoming Tri-unity Christian held Powers North Central to 16 points in the second half and defeated the representative from the Upper Peninsula, 51-36, in a Class D semifinal on Thursday at the Breslin Center.
Christian, ranked No. 1 and the 2011 state champion, will play the winner of the second semifinal between Southfield Christian (25-2) and Lansing Christian for the title at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Joey Blauwkamp's basket with a second left gave Christian a 29-27 lead. Christian continued to build upon the advantage as Evan Przybysz opened the fourth with a 3-pointer.
Daniel Cole led Christian (25-2) with 18 points and Blauwkamp had 10.
Rob Granquist led North Central (23-4) with 13 points.
