Detroitó Mayoral candidates Mike Duggan and Benny Napoleon are set to appear on the same stage to field questions at the Detroit Economic Clubís Oct. 23 luncheon.
Beth Chappell, president and CEO of the club, confirmed Thursday the two contenders in Detroitís Nov. 5 mayoral race will be featured guests at the speaker event.
The program, to be held at Cobo Center, may be the only appearance the two will participate in before a live audience prior to the election.
Napoleon, who is Wayne Countyís sheriff, and Duggan, former CEO of the Detroit Medical Center, will each have five minutes to make opening remarks. The event will be moderated by Carol Cain, a Detroit Free Press columnist and senior producer and host of CBS 62ís Michigan Matters.
Judge Damon Keith will serve as the eventís presiding officer, introducing the candidates and facilitating an audience question-and-answer session.
The hour-long luncheon will begin at 12:30. Meetings of the club are open to members and non-members, Chappell said.
