East Lansing – Michigan State running back Jeremy Langford and punter Mike Sadler were honored on Monday as Big Ten Players of the Week.
Langford was the conference's top offensive player, running for three touchdowns and adding another through the air in Michigan State's 42-28 victory over Indiana. The junior recorded his first 100-yard rushing game, carrying 23 times for 109 yards.
Sadler recorded a Big Ten-record average of 59.3 yards on four punts, including a season-long 69-yarder in the fourth quarter. He added kicks of 44, 56 and 68 yards and pinned the Hoosiers at their 10-yard line on one. It is the third career award for the junior.
Michigan State improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten and hosts Purdue on Saturday.
