Detroit Catholic Centralís Zach Bock returned a failed field-goal attempt 99 yards as time ran out to defeat Warren DeLaSalle, 20-14, Saturday in a Catholic League football game.
Tied 14-14, DeLaSalleís Jake Townsley attempted a 57-yard field goal. The kick fell short of the goal line where Bock picked up the ball and returned it for the touchdown.
Catholic Centralís other touchdowns came on a 12-yard pass reception by Mitchell Katkic and a 20-yard run by Sean Birney.
Pat Adams scored both of DeLaSalleís touchdowns on passes of 11 and 41 yards from quarterback Giovanni Rescigno. Adamsí second TD tied the score 14-14 with 2:45 left.
Catholic Centralís Jack Van Acker had two interceptions to stall DeLaSalle drives in the first half.
With the victory, Catholic Central (7-1) advances to play Brother Rice (9-0) in the Catholic League championship at Ford Field. DeLaSalle is 5-3.
Grossse Pointe Woods University Liggett 33, Harper Woods 6: Tommy Jackson ran for 283 yards and three TDs and Darill Lewis had 21 carries for 101 yards for Liggett (5-3).
Birmingham Brother Rice 38, U-D Jesuit 0: Alex Malzone went 12-for-17 for 188 yards and a TD and Brian Walker rushed for 75 yards and a TD for Rice (9-0).
Detroit Old Redford Academy 54, Southfield Bradford Academy 0: Rod Davis rushed for 181 yards and four TDs.
Royal Oak Shrine 28, Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook KIngswood 7: Jordan Gee ran for 146 yards and a TD for Shrine (6-2). Joe Myrick scored the lone touchdown for Cranbrook (2-6).
Southfield Christian 47, Sterling Heights Parkway Christian 27: Kameron Garner caught six passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns, and Jonathon Springer ran nine times for 100 yards for Southfield Christian (7-1). Phil Lapinski had nine catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns and ran nine times for 79 yards and another score for Parkway Christian (4-4).
Birmingham Roeper 2, Southfield Christian 1: Matt Whipple and Simon Roennecko scored for Roeper (6-2). Parker Brose scored for Southfield Christian.
