Brad Ausmus, the former Tigers catcher who is now a special assistant with the Padres, is the favorite to be the next Detroit manager, according to oddsmakers at bovada.lv.
Ausmusí odds are 4 to 1, followed by Lloyd McClendon at 9 to 2.
McClendon was the hitting coach under former Tigers manager Jim Leyland. McClendon managed the Pirates from 2001-05.
Ausmus played for the Padres, Tigers, Astros and Dodgers from 1993-2010.
