Detroit — A suspected unlicensed drunken driver was arrested Tuesday morning after he drove into a school bus containing 20 children. The students were unhurt in the incident.
The bus was headed to Emerson Elementary-Middle School at about 7:05 a.m. on eastbound Clarita near Evergreen when the driver of a black Honda Accord, who reportedly didn't have his headlights on, hit the bus in the middle of its right side.
An officer at the scene placed the driver under arrest after discovering an open bottle of E&J brandy in the car.
The bus was able to continue transporting the students to school.
