Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, and his new ride, according to a tweet by his brother Ben. (Ben Verlander via Twitter)
Tigers ace Justin Verlander is not an average pitcher, and he doesn’t drive average cars.
Verlander, who has a $180 million deal with the organization, is pictured in the the tweet below, sent out by his younger brother Ben on Wednesday:
Justin's new ride. Only other one like it on the East Coast is some guy named Michael Jordan. So sick pic.twitter.com/aUid1uxJO7— Ben Verlander (@Verly32) October 30, 2013
Justin Verlander appears to be standing next to a 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series. He’s not unfamiliar with the model; Verlander showed up at Tigers spring training in 2012 driving an SLS, notable for its gull wing doors, among other things.
The SLS AMG Black Series costs about $250,000, and fewer than 200 are available in the United States, according to Car and Driver magazine.
