Aretha Franklin is back, after taking the summer off for medical issues, and now she’s scheduled a concert in Detroit for Dec. 21 at the MotorCity Casino Hotel’s Sound Board.
The Queen of Soul had to cancel several concerts in the spring, due to an unspecified illness, and stayed close to home for medical treatments all summer, except for a few visits to a local hotel for a change of pace. She is proceeding with recording an album for Clive Davis and Sony Music in November (produced by Don Was and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds), and now she’s putting herself back out on the concert circuit.
Tickets for the Sound Board “An Evening With Aretha Franklin” show range from $65-$95 and go on sale Nov. 7 at all Ticketmaster locations and Ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets by phone call (800) 745-3000. Tickets may be purchased at the Sound Board box office on Wednesday, and Friday-Sunday.
