Waterford Township — Two township teenagers were hospitalized with life threatening injuries following a head-on crash with another motorist Thursday night, police report.
The crash occurred about 6:36 p.m. on Sashabaw Road near Island Park Drive. A preliminary report found a 16-year-old boy was driving a 1999 Chevy S-10 south on Sashabaw when he crossed the center line and into the path of a northbound 2003 Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 43-year-old Clarkston man.
The teenage driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old Waterford woman, were both taken to an area hospital for injuries, police said. The Clarkston man was released at the scene. Police said seat belts were worn by the two injured people but not by the Clarkston man.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
