East Lansing — The sometimes never-ending questions of whether Michigan State would wear a different uniform today have been answered, and there is a change – just not a drastic one.
In a photo posted to the Twitter account of Michigan State's football equipment room, it shows a mannequin wearing the standard green jersey and green helmet. The change comes with a matching pair of green pants.
During the week, a version of the Nike Pro Combat uniforms the Spartans wore against the Wolverines in 2011 was posted on the internet, leading some to believe they would be brought back for the first time since that game.
Early in the week, coach Mark Dantonio danced around the subject.
"I guess I would anticipate it," he said. "Would you expect it? I don't know that I expect it."
In actual football-related news, Michigan State defensive tackle Tyler Hoover (calf) will not play. It is the second straight game the senior has missed.
