Detroit man in custody in killing of Farmington Hills party store owner

Farmington Hills police say a 43-year-old Detroit man is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of Duraid Lossia, who was killed Saturday inside his party store.

Lossia, 59, the owner of Tom’s Party Store on Inkster Road north of Eight Mile died during an apparent robbery, police said.

“Physical evidence collected from the scene and surrounding area has linked the subject to the crime,” Farmington Hills police said in a release. “The investigation will be presented to the Office of the Oakland County Prosecutor for review and appropriate charging.”

The suspect is not being named pending official charges.
