Detroit is getting a date with Mother Monster after all.
Lady Gaga will perform at Joe Louis Arena May 17, promoters announced Wednesday. Tickets, $85 for general admission floor and $35, $49.50, $85 and $200 for reserved seating, go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday. Members of Gaga’s fan site littlemonsters.com who RSVP to the show on the site will get a crack at tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Motor City was left off of Gaga’s initial tour itinerary when dates for her creatively titled “artRave: The ARTPOP Ball” were announced last month. The Joe Louis date falls between previously announced shows in Washington, D.C. (May 15), and Cleveland (May 18).
Gaga’s third full-length studio album “Artpop” was released in November and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. After seven weeks in stores, the album is No. 18 on this week’s chart.
The Joe Louis concert will mark the pop singer’s first Metro Detroit visit since she played the Palace of Auburn Hills in September 2010. In January of that year, Gaga played back-to-back concerts at the Joe.
A planned February 2013 concert at the Palace was canceled when Gaga sacked her entire tour due to a hip injury.
