The constant knee pain that slowed Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson for most of the season will also hold him out of the Pro Bowl.
The NFL announced that Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will replace Johnson at the annual all-star game in Honolulu on Jan. 26.
Johnson missed two games this season due to the injury and was effectively a decoy in another, and he will likely have surgery this offseason to fix the knee issue. He also suffered an ankle injury late in the season.
Johnson finished the season third in the NFL with 1,492 receiving yards on 84 receptions. He also caught 12 touchdowns.
This was Johnson's fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection, but he'll miss the game for the third straight year.
Jeffery, meanwhile, took great strides in his second NFL season and finished with 89 catches for 1,421 yards and seven touchdowns.
