Ben Marshall’s goal with 4:01 remaining gave the top-ranked Minnesota hockey team a 3-2 victory over Penn State on Sunday night at Pegula Ice Arena in State College, Pa.
Brady Skjei and Mike Reilly (power play) also scored for the Golden Gophers (14-2-3, 4-0-1 Big Ten) in the first meeting between the two programs.
Minnesota led 2-0 before Penn State (4-11-1, 0-3-0) answered with goals from Taylor Holstrom in the second period and David Glen 3 minutes, 45 seconds into the third period.
Adam Wilcox made 28 saves for Minnesota. Eamon McAdam made 42 for Penn State.
