Allen Park On the day the Miami Dolphins interviewed the Lions Brian Xanders for their vacant general manager position, three Lions were named to the Pro Football Writers Association all-rookie team.
Xanders, the Lions assistant general manager under Martin Mayhew, had a big hand in drafting defensive end Ziggy Ansah, right guard Larry Warford and punter Sam Martin all of whom were named to the all-rookie team.
The Lions were the only team to have three players named.
Green Bay running back Eddie Lacy was named rookie of the year. San Diego receiver Keenan Allen was the offensive rookie of the year and Buffalo linebacker Kiko Alonso was the defensive rookie of the year.
