Detroit – The Tigers Winter Caravan is a week away.
The team announced on Wednesday that the two-day event, featuring players, first-year manager Brad Ausmus and his coaches, and front-office staff will take place on Jan. 23-24.
Twelve new destinations are among the nearly 30 stops the Tigers will make.
“We are excited to warm up these cold winter months with the excitement that only a new baseball season can bring,” said Elaine Lewis, the Tigers’ vice president of community and public affairs.
Among the activities in which the Tigers will take part are a AAA Safe Driving Rally, a chance to serve coneys at National Coney Island in Warren, and a presentation to honor the 100th anniversary of the Hamtramck Fire Department.
