2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (GM)
General Motors Co. said Thursday it will auction the purchase rights for the first 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 available for retail buyers, plus the first 2014 COPO Camaro during Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. auctions this weekend in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Detroit automaker said the COPO Camaro, a race car with serial No. 1 out of just 69 that will be built, will be auctioned Friday night. Fox Business News will carry the auction live. GM said proceeds will benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans, a group that helps wounded veterans take part in marathons.
On Saturday, Chevy’s fastest-yet-on-the-track Camaro Z/28 with vehicle identification number ending in 0001, will be auctioned to benefit Cornerstone Schools in Detroit. The National Geographic Channel will broadcast that auction, GM said.
People interested in bidding can submit them at the auction or online at www.barrett-jackson.com.
