No Richard Sherman on the Tigers

Gage’s 140 (words, not characters)

They’re ballplayers, not cornerbacks.

But if any Tigers, present or recent past, made the play Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman made, would they have reacted the same while Erin Andrews interviewed them?

I doubt it. Instead, it might have gone like this:

“It was cool. But I’ve got kids to take care of.” — Prince Fielder

“A lot of hard work went into that play. Anything else, Kate? I mean, Erin.” — Justin Verlander

“Went back to the drawing board, took a deep breath and regrouped. We’re a team here.” — Doug Fister.

“Big plays are byproducts of execution.” — Max Scherzer.

“It’s what we needed, from a defensive perspective.” — Dave Dombrowski

“I’ve never been afraid to just say something, young lady.” — Jim Leyland

And Torii Hunter?

He would have lifted up coach Pete Carroll and watched him moonwalk.
