Listen to Your Mother, a national series of storytelling performances featuring local writers in celebration of motherhood, will be in town to host auditions Saturday and again Feb. 8.
Detroit was selected as one of 32 cities nationwide to celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day with a special performance to be held at Saint Andrew’s Hall, 431 E. Congress St. in downtown Detroit.
Each production is directed, produced and performed by local communities for local communities, with “at least” 10 percent of ticket sales benefitting a local non-profit organization. Alternatives for Girls, which helps homeless and high-risk young females “make positive choices in their lives,” will benefit from Detroit’s production.
Auditions will be by appointment only. For more information, call (586) 925-0369 or visit listentoyourmothershow.com/metrodetroit or the national website, listentoyourmothershow.com.
