Iíve been wrong a lot about Brennan Boesch.
I thought he would play a long time for the Tigers. He didnít.
I thought heíd be an established major-league power hitter by now. He isnít.
In fact, as late as last week, when I asked his friend Rick Porcello what he was doing Ė only to find out Porcello wasnít sure Ė Boesch was nothing but a fading memory.
But on Tuesday he signed a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Angels, who werenít his favorite team while growing up in southern California (the Dodgers were), but close enough.
So that gives me another opportunity to be right by saying this: I donít know if Boesch will make the most of it, but at 28, and with the promise he once displayed, he deserved another chance.
Even if it looks like his last.
