Jordan Currington scored 20 points and pulled down 21 rebounds as Detroit University Prep edged Old Redford Academy, 66-63, in a boys basketball game Saturday night.
Old Redford was in front for most of the game and led by nine points entering the fourth quarter. Currington then took over for University Prep, giving his team the lead with a free throw with 30 seconds left and blocking a shot that led to the winning basket.
“Jordan works hard on his game every day,” University Prep coach Christopher Williams said. “Today, he had his career high in points and rebounds.”
Jordan Henderson added 12 points for University Prep, which improved to 7-6.

Warren Mott 74, Roseville 52: De’Lano Johnson had 21 points and Kenny Goins had 13 points and 16 rebounds for Mott (7-3).
Southfield Christian 61, Birmingham Roeper 34: Marlo Brown had 20 points and Brock Washington added 16 for Southfield Christian (11-1).
Detroit Osborn 66, Detroit Davis Aerospace 30: Dajuan Currie had 10 points and 10 rebounds and DeJuan Butler had 10 points for Osborn (12-3,6-1).
Detroit East English Village 94, Detroit Cody 52: Marqywell Jackson had 30 points and 10 rebounds and Kamari Newman had 15 points for East English
Bloomfield Hills 69, Farmington 43: Alex Johnson had 21 points and Shailynn Brown added 16 for Bloomfield Hills (11-3). Mya Douse had 13 points for Farmington (3-12).
Highland Park Renaissance Academy 48, Hamtramck 36: Mikha Davis had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Daushia Willard had 14 points for Renaissance (5-5).
Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 57, Plymouth Christian 40: Kendall McConico and Jessica Rotzoll each had 14 points for Liggett (10-3).
Harper Woods Notre Dame 5, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 2: Dallas Abraham had a hat trick for Notre Dame. Nick Garbarz scored for Bishop Foley (5-13-1).
