Detroit — Kevin Siddall, the 14-year-old son of former Tigers catcher Joe Siddall, has lost his battle with cancer.
Kevin Siddall died Tuesday at the London (Ont.) Health Sciences Centre.
The Siddalls are residents of Windsor.
Kevin’s older sister Mackenzie tweeted Tuesday: “Rest in peace my little soldier ... forever in my heart.”
Kevin Siddall was diagnosed last August with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Joe, who helps the Tigers with pregame catching duties, said at the time the family first noticed something was wrong when Kevin, who had no previous health issues, was out of breath after routinely running the bases during a game in Windsor.
Joe said the diagnosis of the disease “blindsided us.”
Funeral arrangements are not yet known.
