East Lansing — President Obama traveled to Michigan State to sign a federal farm bill.
But he was happy to talk sports, too.
He said he also traveled to East Lansing on Friday “to do some scouting on my brackets,” a reference to Michigan State’s highly ranked men’s basketball team and the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
The president said Spartans “are looking pretty good” right now after some tough losses. He also said coach Tom Izzo “always paces so you peak at the tournament.”
Obama also praised the football team, which won the Rose Bowl. He joked, “you guys are greedy” and “want to win everything.”
Obama also met with Izzo and football coach Mark Dantonio. Izzo told reporters he couldn’t believe how well Obama knew his roster.
