Remember the coddling of Bruce Rondon last spring?
Itís not going to happen again, and thatís good for all involved.
Good for Rondon, who doesnít need to be handled with kid gloves.
And itís good for the Tigers, who are in a better position of knowing where to slot him.
Rondonís still somewhat of an unknown commodity, but arenít you more comfortable with the anticipation heíll be the setup man instead a candidate to close?
You should be.
Last spring was a three-ring circus with Rondon one of the main attractions.
Every outing was over-examined.
But Rondon, 23, emerged from the season relatively unscathed and has the stuff, of course, to be an effective setup man.
There will be another buzz about Rondon this spring, just wait and see, but this time the accompanying expectations will be far more realistic.
