Michigan hires Brad Berlin to replace longtime equipment manager Jon Falk

Brad Berlin has been hired as Director of Equipment Operations for the University of Michigan athletic department, replacing Jon Falk, who held the position for 40 years before retiring at the conclusion of the 2013 football season.

Berlin, who has been with the NFLís Washington Redskins for the past 13 seasons, will oversee the equipment operations for all of Michiganís athletic teams.

Berlin earned his undergraduate degree in sports administration from the University of Missouri in 1989. He also earned his master's of education in sports administration from Missouri in 1993.

Berlin also has worked at Louisville (2000-01), Missouri (1998-2000), Colorado State (1994-98) and Utah State (1992-94).

"This is a tremendous opportunity for me and my family," Berlin said in a statement released by U-M. "To be able to come to Ann Arbor and help contribute to the storied tradition and history of Michigan Athletics is the chance of a lifetime.Ē
