White Castle wedding: Mercedes Fanning and Justin Shamburger, winners of a radio promotion, tie the knot at the Warren White Castle on Valentines Day.

Warren— It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a wedding. And what more romantic place to get married than in a castle? Justin Shamburger, 26, and his fiancé, Mercedes Fanning, 29, both of Southfield, were wed Friday at a White Castle restaurant on Dequindre, south of 12 Mile, in Warren. The couple won a contest by radio station HOT 107.5 for the honor of beginning their wedded lives together at one of Metro Detroit’s favorite fast-food chains where classic sliders were on the menu for the nuptials. For dessert, though, there was a traditional wedding cake. More than 25 couples entered the Win A White Castle Wedding contest.
