Bret Michaels donates $10K to Goodwill Industries
Poison frontman Bret Michaels will give $10,000 to the Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit to help provide job education, training and placement to Metro Detroiters. The donation comes from the Bret Michaels Life Foundation after the rocker visited Goodwill’s Dearborn retail store. “Detroiters have always supported Poison and the Bret Michaels Band, and we are truly thankful to give back to this great community,” said Michaels in a release. “The job training and placement opportunities that Goodwill provides in the Detroit area are amazing. I was blown away with the Dearborn store tour as well as the team members I met.”
Hoffman's will: Raise my son in Manhattan
The ever-sneaky TMZ.com has obtained a copy of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s2004 will, which requested that his son Cooper be raised in Manhattan, and if that isn’t possible, Chicago or San Francisco. In 2004 Cooper was the actor’s only child, but he has since had two other children with partner Mimi O’Donnell, to whom he left his entire estate.
Investment banker sues for 'Wall Street' defamation
Filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Paramount are facing a $25 million lawsuit filed by Andrew Green, a former business partner of Jordan Belfort, whose debaucherous business dealings were the plot of “Wolf of Wall Street” starring Leonardo DeCaprio. In the film, investment banker Green is portrayed as the character Nicky “Rugrat” Koskoff, played by P.J. Byrne. Green says the character’s use of drugs and prostitutes has damaged his professional reputation. Green also wants the film taken out of theaters.
■Twice-nominated actress Bette Midler is slated to sing for the first time at the Academy Awards telecast on March 2. The song wasn’t revealed.
Cee Lo Green announced on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday he would not return as judge on “The Voice,” but that he will continue his relationship with NBC in another capacity. The singer plays DTE Energy Music Theatre on June 20 with Lionel Richie.
■A new super rock group, Teenage Time Killer, has formed featuring members of Corrosion of Conformity. According to several reports, the band also includes Dave Grohl, Corey Taylor, Jello Biafra, Keith Morris, Nick Oliveri and others.
