Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah missed the second half of the Week 14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles because of a shoulder injury, but it didnít hold him out of the final three games.
However, Ansah needed to repair the damage this offseason, and he underwent shoulder surgery earlier this month in Los Angeles, Fox Sports reported.
The report said Ansah should recover in time for the start of the 2014 season.
Ansah, the fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft, led all rookies with eight sacks despite missing two games because of ankle injury.
